Demo: nothing is sent. This is the example page from demand-test-kit. The real page tests its price on every visitor, and a report turns the sign-ups into GO or KILL. Shown here on price b ($7 per month). Get the kit on GitHub

Who is responsible

Fernquill (a fictional example) runs this page and decides what happens to the data it collects. Write to you@example.com with any question or request.

Fernquill is a fictional product used to show this kit. A real page names the country it operates from and the data protection authority you can complain to.

What this page is

Fernquill is not available yet. This page measures interest before it is built. It shows one of a few planned prices and collects email addresses from people who want to hear when it opens. It never takes payment.

What we store when you visit

A random number ties a button press to the page view it came from. It is new for each page view and is not kept in a cookie. We do not store your IP address, your browser details or any identifier that follows you between visits.

To slow down automated sign-ups, the server keeps a one-way hash of your IP address in its memory when you join. It is never written to the database. It is used to count sign-ups from the same address over ten minutes. After that it is dropped at the next sign-up the server handles, or when the server instance stops, whichever comes first.

What we store when you join the waitlist

Cookies and the price test

This site sets one cookie so you see the same price each time you visit. You can opt out of price testing with the link at the bottom of the page. You then see the standard price and your visits are not recorded.

CookiePurposeLastsSet
dtk_variant Remembers which planned price you were shown, so it stays the same when you come back. It holds only that letter, no identifier. 21 days On your first visit
dtk_optout Remembers that you opted out of price testing. 1 year Only if you opt out

Both are first-party cookies. They are not used to follow you on other sites.

Why we use it

Who else handles it

The page and the database run on Cloudflare, which processes the data on our behalf. Like any web host, Cloudflare handles your IP address to deliver the page. See the Cloudflare privacy policy. We do not sell or share the data with anyone else, and this page loads nothing from other companies.

How long we keep it

Visit records and waitlist sign-ups are deleted automatically 180 days after they were collected, or sooner if you ask.

Your rights

You can ask to see the data we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. You can withdraw your consent at any time, and it is as easy as giving it: write to you@example.com. You can also complain to a data protection authority.
